A MAJOR security breach at Stornoway Airport was discovered this week - but only after a passenger had taken their seat on a Stornoway - Glasgow flight without having passed through security.
The incident on the 4.30pm Loganair BA8826 flight on Monday, March 31 occurred when a passenger, who had completed check-in on the internet, arrived running late for departure.
It has been revealed that in a bid to save time the passenger was simply 'waved through' security - bypassing terrorist preventatives such as baggage x-ray and metal detectors - and shown out of an emergency exit to the waiting aircraft.
