All Tim LaPlante wanted was some buffalo wings. He wasn't asking much. Just a bottle of hot sauce from the grocery store for the marinade. Fortunately, the store was out. That's when the Corvallis resident went home to make his own hot sauce and started on the road to an award-winning formula.
That night when a friend tried LaPlante's buffalo wings, she said, "You have got to sell this." He spent the next four months perfecting the formula before peddling the product to merchants.
