Wright Medical Group Inc, US orthopaedic specialist, has agreed to acquire Inbone Technologies Inc for an initial cash payment of US$24 million, along with guaranteed minimum future payments of $3.7 million.

There is also the potential for further cash payments.

Inbone makes a total ankle replacement and an intra-osseous fusion rod and plate system.

With this move, Wright is expanding its own range of products for what it describes as the rapidly expanding foot and ankle surgery market.
