A technology platform that enables the practice of regenerative medicine, through harnessing the natural healing ability of patients' own cells, has won two awards for US developer Cytori Therapeutics Inc.

Frost & Sullivan (F&S) awarded Cytori both the 2008 North American Regenerative Medicine Technology Innovation of the Year Award and the 2008 US Medical Device Industry Innovation & Advancement of the Year Award.

The two distinct awards recognize Cytori's development of its trademarked Celution system platform and its potential to dominate the practice of regenerative medicine, according to F&S.
