So far, President Clinton's crusade to save the younger generation from the perils of smoking has proven one thing: He has forgotten what it's like to be a teen-ager.
The president has proposed that the federal government ban cigarette vending machines everywhere and end the sponsorship of sports events by tobacco companies. This, he apparently believes, will keep teens from smoking. Come on, Mr. President, get real.
I am just three years out of high school, so I feel quite qualified to talk about this. Let me begin by admitting that I did exactly what Mr. Clinton is trying to stop others from doing _ I smoked.
