Like most epic heroes, Achilles needed something to eat after a difficult struggle. He had just vanquished Hector. As he strutted into the Greek camp, he commanded a bystanding servant, "An apple! I'm famished!" The servant brought him a basket filled with luscious, juicy apples. Achilles greedily bit into one. The juice trickled down his chin like a refreshing raindrop dripping down a dry, ancient mountain face. Achilles sighed with relief.
