PORTSMOUTH -- PORTSMOUTH - Very quietly and peacefully on April 3, 2008, almighty God gently closed the eyes of our beloved Mae Belle Ransom, and she entered into eternal rest.
Mae Belle Scott Ransom, 87, was a resident of the 300 block of Shawen Drive, Hampton. Mrs. Ransom was born in Raleigh, N.C., Dec. 1, 1919, to the late Ginny and Frank Scott.
She moved to Portsmouth in 1945, where she lived for 55 years and enjoyed a fulfilling career as a nurse.
