ATLANTA - MORE than 2,000 retailers from the 50 states and 20 nations will gather in Atlanta next week for what is expected to be one of the strongest Atlanta Area Rug Markets ever.
Suppliers and retailers say that although many floor covering items were a tough sell in '95, area rugs have continued to do considerable business. The growth rate continues to be high in the approximately $3.5 billion-dollar-a-year industry, they say.
Retailers say that they are planning to buy a wide variety of rugs for the 1996 selling season. Items they'll look for include sisal pieces, items in black and cobalt and decorative pieces, such as Liora Manne's rugs.
