The ANF has welcomed the federal government's move to appoint a chief nursing and midwifery officer.
The new leadership role has been created in response to strong demand from the nursing profession. Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon said, "the chief nursing and midwifery officer will be a strong voice within government on all issues relating to Australia's large nursing workforce."
