The race for the Korean juice market is going strong.

Demand for fruit and vegetable juices has grown dramatically over the past decade. Imports of these drinks increased 370 percent to $107 million from 1988 to 1992.

Rapidly increasing per capita incomes, liberalization of more consumer-ready food imports, health consciousness and changing tastes have all played a part in the shift to higher quality and pure natural juices.

With the liberalization of apple and juice imports, coupled with a stagnant local fruit production, major suppliers of juices to Korea are expected to benefit even further.
