The opening night of The Gurkhas restaurant in Sackville Road was attended by Town Mayor Councillor Paul Lendon and guests who enjoyed a celebratory buffet.
The restaurant is run by Purna K.C and Raju Shah, who commented: "It was a really good evening. We are very pleased. We had a good response from the public, and they say they like it here - it is nice and cosy."
The Gurkhas was opened in Bexhill because of customer demand - Raju was working in a Nepalese restaurant in St Leonards and remembers that many of the regulars were from Bexhill.
