This was a convincing win which allowed Manners to extend their run as county schools rugby champions to ten wins in a row.
But Manners were hesitant early on and Ashbourne were first to post a score.
A long touch kick down into the Manners 22 metre area, a lost lineout and quickly spun out ball put Ashbourne in for the converted try.
Like an alarm call, it woke up the Bakewell side and in less than ten minutes they had responded with a seven-pointer of their own.
