A slumping dollar value and domestic housing crisis has given San Diego entrepreneur Rick Valentine all the motivation he needs to embrace his inner traveler in search of real estate deals abroad.

He's found a peach of a project by renowned Costa Rican builder Guillermo Carranza on a pristine stretch of the Pacific Ocean coastline, which is home to the protected Scarlet Macaw and Lora Sea Turtle.
