RICHARD WRIGHT has been appointed Sheffield's flood tsar.
The former MD of aerospace metals and superalloys manufacturer ATI Allvac has been tasked by city development company Creative Sheffield with preparing a plan to prevent further floods having such a major impact on the region's economy and to work with local businesses to be better prepared for floods and recovery.
Mr Wright, who currently represents Yorkshire Forward in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering sector, will also work with local and national government and with Creative Sheffield to improve the region's flood defences.
