THE Post Office has ignored the pleas of hundreds of people to keep a village branch open.
The fight to keep Willingdon Post Office open has ended unsuccessfully. Months of campaigning, and hundreds of signatures, failed to persuade Post Office bosses to retain the popular post office.
Four other Eastbourne branches - Marine Parade, Etchingham Road, the Broadway and Wannock - which have also been under threat of closure will not discover their fate until Tuesday.
But branches in Upper Dicker and in Claremont Road and Newick Close, Seaford have also learned they are to close.
