Introduction
Fibromyalgia is a common clinical syndrome of generalized musculoskeletal pain, stiffness, and chronic aching, characterized by reproducible tenderness on palpitation of specific anatomical sites, called tender points. (1) Fibromyalgia is nine times more common in middle-aged women (between the ages of 30 and 50) than in men. The association of fibromyalgia with chronic fatigue syndrome has been reported. (2)
