IT was celebration time at the cafe in Endcliffe Park this week as the team behind the counter was given the go-ahead to carry on for at least another three years.
After a widespread community campaign in his support, Ashley Charlesworth was granted another licence, even though he did not submit the highest tender.
The council verdict on Wednesday was a big relief to Ashley, who said he appreciated the groundswell of public backing.
"I'd really like to thank people from the bottom of my heart," he said. "It has been a stressful time and the kind words of support have really spurred me on. And I'm really pleased for all the staff."
