The bottom line. How many times have we heard that old phrase? We use it in countless situations to finalize an idea, emphasize a convincing statement and, in business, to describe the economic result. It's probably the most commonly used phrase in business today. "Let's improve our bottom line!" "The bottom line looks great." "If we don't proceed as planned, our bottom line will suffer." And even, "Let's get to the bottom line on this."
