A LIFE-LONG Scout member from the Holme Valley has been honoured at a reception and service in London.
LaurieMinnie, former leader of Meltham Scouts, recently won the highest award in Scouting - the Silver Wolf Badge - and was recognised by the Chief Scout, former Blue Peter presenter, Peter Duncan.
Laurie has been in Scouting for nearly 70 years with hardly a break. He began as a Wolf Cub in 1939 at Eltow in Bedfordshire and two years later transferred to the 1st Bedfordshire Group as a Scout.
