Jan. 13--Glen Taylor and his Heinrich Envelope Corp. averted possible court sanctions Friday when the company made good on its promises to pay about 40 past and present women employees $620,000 as part of settling two sex discrimination lawsuits.
The Golden Valley envelope manufacturer, a unit of Taylor's giant Mankato-based Taylor Corp., made the payment Thursday night after a day of negotiations, said Jean Boler, an attorney for the women. Heinrich also has promised to pay legal fees for the women of $878,225 by Jan. 23, according to papers filed late Friday in U.S. District Court.
