SEAFRONT traders in Scar- borough are still doing a brisk trade in postcards despite talk of their demise and the rising cost of postage.
A national magazine has now started a campaign to save the traditional holiday greeting which has come under threat from hi-tech communications such as email and text messaging.
But David Young, of Snows of Scarborough, which has a shop on the seafront, said postcards were as popular as ever - particularly with collectors.
He said: "We actually found we are selling more postcards. We have bought more postcards over the last 12 months.
