Cris Mora was born into a very musical family in Curitiba, Brazil. She began singing in church at the age of 6 with her twin sister, studied piano and learned just enough to help her with her passion, songwriting. Her mother would give the girls competitive songwriting exercises at a young age.. At 16 she became involved with the rapidly growing "underground music" scene in Curitiba, making beats, and writing and singing bossa nova mixed with funk music.
She came to North America at 19. Soon after, she met Muisek, also a musician, and they began to compose together. Cris married Muisek, and her musical journey continued.
