C. Frank DeMeo is among a handful of executives reshaping the iron foundry business in the United States as he creates a miniconglomerate of metal-casting operations from his outpost in Grafton.
Mr. DeMeo chairman and chief executive of General Casting Co., began acquiring iron foundries five years ago. He now operates six foundries with 750 employees and annual sales o 70 million.
"Frank is a real entrepreneur in the business," said David Kanicki, publisher of Modem Casting magazine and vice president of communications for the American Foundrymen's Society in Des Plaines, Ill.
