ATLANTA -- Family physicians have not embraced the current rotavirus vaccine with the same gusto as pediatrians, Shannon Stokley said at the winter meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Approved by the Food and Drug Administration in February 2006, Merck & Co.'s live, oral pentavalent vaccine RotaTeq is currently the only rotavirus vaccine available on the U.S. market.
