Police are investigating whether date-rape drugs were involved in the case of two teenage girls found sprawled and abandoned on a North Shore footpath yesterday morning.
The girls, aged 18 and 19, were last night being interviewed by detectives. They were in a serious condition in North Shore Hospital.
Toxicology tests have been taken to establish what substances were in the girls' systems and results are expected within days, police said last night.
Initial reports suggested the girls had overdosed on party pills, but the Weekend Herald understands police are now investigating whether harder drugs, including date-rape-style drugs such as GHB - more commonly ...
