THE hunt for Madeleine McCann was engulfed in a war of words yesterdayas Portuguese police criticised her parents' spokesman.
Detectives denied Clarence Mitchell's claims that police had deliberatelyleaked statements from Kate and Gerry McCann and said they regretted his'baseless intervention'.
