WORCESTER - There are few plays with the name recognition of "A Streetcar Named Desire," by Tennessee Williams. The T-shirted Stanley Kowalski yelling, "Stella," is a classic, both on the stage and the silver screen.
Foothills is putting on its version of the classic through May 4.
Former school teacher Blanche DuBois (portrayed by Dee Nelson) arrives in New Orleans to visit her sister, Stella (Jessica Webb) and her husband, Stanley (Brian Nemiroff). Blanche is hiding a secret as she tries to adapt to her new home and loses touch with reality.
