TOKYO, April 16 Asia Pulse - Japan's aggregate electricity output rose 3.3 per cent from a year earlier to a record above 1 trillion kilowatt-hours in the fiscal year ended March 31, according to a preliminary report released Tuesday by the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan.

It marked a fourth straight year of record power generation and the first time for the annual figure to exceed 1 trillion kilowatt-hours.
