The Washtenaw County Board of Road Commissioners recently elected Fred J. Veigel as its 2008 chair, taking over for Wesley Prater, the 2007 chairman. The other two members of the three-member board are David E. Rutledge, elected as the 2008 vice-chair, and Prater, a member.
The Washtenaw County Road Commission is governed by a three-member Board of Road Commissioners, appointed by the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners. To formulate policy and provide oversight, each board member is appointed to a six-year staggered term. One commissioner is appointed every two years.
