Sprint Venture CEO happy with cable's service efforts. (Ronald LeMay; Sprint Telecommunications Venture)

ANAHEIM, CALIF. - Ronald LeMay, CEO of the Sprint Telecommunications Venture, acknowledged that the venture has to overcome cable's reputation for spotty service, but he said he was happy with the efforts he's seen to improve cable's image.

LeMay, speaking at last Tuesday's New Revenue Roundtable conference sponsored by Cable & Telecommunications: A Marketing Society, said that after a year at the helm of STV, he has seen a "very serious interest to spend the money and use the energy to meet those standards." He also said cable has to make sure it "gets credit" for improvements it makes.

STV's venture partners are Sprint Corp., Tele-Communications Inc., Cox Communications ...
