TAKING vitamins A, C and does not prolong life and some may actually beharmful, warn researchers.
There is no convincing evidence that antioxidant vitamins can help you livelonger, according to a review of 67 studies involving more than 230,000 people.
Their regular use may even increase the risk of premature death, according tothe shock findings.
One in four Irish adults currently takes a vitamin supplement, and around tenmillion people in Britain take the most popular vitamins C and E and betacarotene, the pigment found in carrots, tomatoes and broccoli which the bodyconverts into vitamin A.
