With the current budget crisis in Michigan, local governments face the prospect of having to redesign the manner in which they deliver community services. Pleasant Ridge, Michigan, is making changes that are becoming more important in the current climate of budget limitations.
Although Pleasant Ridge has its own city manager, treasurer, police department, recreation department, and other staff, many of the services that it delivers or makes available to residents are carried out on a contract basis.
