BERKELEY, Calif. _ Ronald McDonald may be in for a fight if the McDonald's Corp. makes good its threat to sue Vegan Action, a student-run group in Berkeley.
McDonald's says the year-old non-profit is infringing on its trademark rights by using the ``golden arches'' logo on a T-shirt that parodies what the vegans call the company's gross mass-marketing of meat products.
In a recent letter to the vegan group, the company said the shirt appears to be a McDonald's T-shirt, misleading shoppers who want a real McDonald's T-shirt. ``We consider this a very serious matter,'' wrote Rhonda Urbik, McDonald's trademark administrator.
