A former civil servant found dead in a field in Northamptonshire after being missing for five days had been lost while walking three times before she died of natural causes, an inquest heard.
Ruth Emma Powell, 87, went missing from her Kilsby flat last November, sparking a police search.
Mrs Powell had moved to sheltered flats in the village to be near her daughter, who lives in Daventry, only a month earlier.
Police found Mrs Powell's body in a field off the A361 on November 22.
In a statement read at her inquest, her daughter, Christine Grossart, described the former Ministry of Defence employee as "friendly and sociable".
