Sowing seeds of change in the capital; SafeLawns demonstrates the durability of organic lawn care on the National Mall.(News)

To show that organic lawn care really works, SafeLawns is sowing the seeds of its message in the most demonstrative and arguably the most trampled spot in the country: the National Mall in Washington.

Open to the public in late March, the 4-acre area between the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol Building was overhauled with hundreds of yards of compost, organic fertilizers, and new grass seed since the project broke ground in September 2007.
