We describe an interesting complication following endoscopic sinus surgery. A 56-year-old man presented with acute proptosis and loss of vision in the right eye. Endoscopic drainage of a periorbital abscess and orbital decompression were performed as an emergency procedure, and the patient's vision improved immediately.
Seven hours postoperatively, the patient complained to the nursing staff that his vision had deteriorated rapidly. He also complained of a bulging sensation in his eye.
