The maximum temperature in Metro Manila rose yesterday to 37 degrees Celsius, the highest in the metropolis so far this year.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) recorded the highest temperature in the metropolis yesterday at 2 p.m. at its Science Garden in Diliman, Quezon City.

The recorded temperature surpassed the record of 36.3 degrees Celsius registered last April 6.

Last year's highest temperature in Metro Manila was also at 37 degrees Celsius, recorded on April 24, 2007.
