NEW YORK -- The upcoming New York Men's Shows slated for Feb. 5-7 are expected to be all about Modern American Style -- something that the Europeans simply can't pull off with any authority.
Forget about the powerful punch of Armani, the colorful clout of Versace or the somber stylings of Dolce & Gabbana. Next month, the 25 or so American designers who will take center stage at the Men's Shows' two West Side locations -- or in their own satellite shows in their own environments -- will present fashions that profile their customers' tastes, and clothes that work with this country's varied lifestyles.
