Vegetable dip, may fall further on fresh arrival

New Delhi, Apr 19 (PTI) -- Decline in prices of some of the vegetables like brinjal and tomato have brought some relief to consumers battling with soaring food prices.

"The fall in prices of brinjal, beans, tomato and cucumber have helped us save some amount in our monthly budget for food," Shraddha Suman, a middle-class housewife in an east Delhi locality, said.

At a Mother Dairy outlet in central Delhi, beans price have plummetted to Rs 18-20 a kg from Rs 34 per kg a fortnight back. Price of bottle gourd has slipped from Rs 17 to Rs 7.90 per kg while cucumber and brinjal to Rs 5.50 and Rs 15 ...
