Dr. Atty. Paris M. Finner-Williams: Generally speaking, a chaplain is a deacon, pastor, minister, rabbi, priest, religious leader, person, or clergy a) in charge of a chapel, b) attached to a branch of the military, an institution, a family, corporation, church, or court, and/or c) who conducts religious exercises or assists a pastor/ bishop. There are ordained and non-ordained trained chaplains.
