WHILE ONE MAJOR MANUFACTURING plant recently went up in smoke, many others are doing well just to stay afloat in the current economic environment.

A Cargill Inc. plant in Booneville caught fire March 23, and the meat-processing plant was reduced to a pile of smoldering rubble. About 800 employees are out of work with no assurance the company will rebuild in the west Arkansas town.
