If you don't believe Apollo's industry-first ASSE 1069 automatic temperature control mixing valve is the hottest new thing on campus, you haven't talked to student athletes and plumbing department staff at the University of New Hampshire. Or showered at "The Whit."
According to Larry Dulac, specifier and project planner for Manchester-based plumbing products distributor Towle-Whitney, group showers at the on-campus Whittemore Center Arena (known by locals as The Whit) had become a too-frequent source of complaints from students. The 11-year-old multi-purpose facility was built with conventional showers using high-low mixing valves.
