Three UK-based companies have combined their resources and expertise to develop a novel space fabric specifically for a composite mattress construction, particularly for children's cots.
Mothercare (UK) Ltd, John Heathcoat & Co Ltd and Relyon Ltd say their spacer fabric is flexible and has an upper surface layer that is permeable to liquid and breathable; a spacer layer that dissipates heat and liquid; and a lower surface that is dimensionally stable.
In International Patent Application WO 2006/100434, they reveal that the upper surface is a knitted mesh comprising sinusoidal mesh strands extending in parallel across the upper face of the fabric. These ...
