It all began rather unexpectedly for Marianne Lehmann, a Swiss woman who has lived in Port-au-Prince for 50 years.
"About 20 or 25 years ago, a man came to my door carrying a sack from which he took a little man made of cement with three horns on his head and a pipe between his teeth, which he wanted to sell," she recalled.
"I was electrified. What was it? I was convinced that that strange little man was looking at me. I immediately felt that this object was something special.
