Ray Charles' children are requesting a formal investigation into possible mishandling of the late entertainer's estate. Several of Charles' 12 children claim their father's longtime manager, Joe Adams, mismanaged his estate and trusts and tarnished his legacy by releasing two posthumous albums Charles would not have approved, according to a story published Sunday in the Los Angeles Times.
They also are accusing Adams of having too much control in Ray Charles Enterprises and the Ray Charles Foundation and excluding them from business dealings. They have complained to the California attorney general, the Los Angeles County Prosecutor's Office and the FBI.
