LANCASTER made the trip to Preston for their first game of the season.
This year's skipper, David Heywood was unavailable, so Tim Barry captained the side.
Barry won the toss, duly electing to bowl first on what promised to be a slow, green wicket.
With the delayed arrival of Taufeeq Umar, sub-professional Kamran Sajid opened the bowling with Danny Milligan.
