Revamped draws send Prize Bond sales soaring to record '143m
PRIZE Bond sales surged by 39pc last year to hit a record of '143.2m, partly in response to the introduction of up to four draws a year with prizes of '1m.
Up to recently, the top prize for Prize Bond winners was '150,000, but last year the company revamped its prize structure to mark its 50th anniversary.
Last year also saw the value of online sales grow by over 72pc. The value of prizes paid out during 2007 was '15.9m, up 15pc on 2006.
The company is a joint venture between An Post and Kerry-based financial services firm Fexco.
