I hope this doesn't come as a shock to many of you, but... the Big Oil companies like higher oil prices. Just look at the profits they are raking in.
Another thing that may also be hard to believe... is that the State Department is led through the nose by the Big Oil companies. This has been the case since before you were born. By throwing around Big Money, they own the "policy experts" who run the State Department. They give very lucrative grants and fund their academic "research" before and after they are at the State Department. This is all well known and considered "old news". Condi Rice actually sat on the Board of Chevron Oil ...
