Article: Jobs hope for Sheffield tool company.

New jobs could be created at Sheffield cutting tool distributor Derek Walmsley & Co, following its acquisition by Danish group Unimerco.

Founder Derek Walmsley is leaving the 35 employee company, but the rest of the team will remain. The Lyons Street business will continue to operate under its current name as an independent company within Unimerico, which is entirely owned by its management and employees.

The Danish firm says acquiring Walmsley strengthens it ability to supply inserts and related tool products to the metal industry - an area which accounts for more than 60 per cent of the tooling market in most countries.
