Ghana President Jerry John Rawlings described his recent visit to the U.S. as "very successful." The purpose of Rawlings' 11-day tour was to promote U.S. investment and trade with Ghana.

"My trip was very successful," he said upon his return to Ghana. "African countries need to collaborate effectively and to support each other's economy to create congenial environments to attract investors to the region."
